Our chosen charities
Heart Link (East Midlands Children's Heart Care Association) Registered Charity No. 513946 was formed in 1981, as a support group for parents and families who had a child suffering from a heart defect.
Over the years we have also become increasingly committed to improving facilities for our young patients, their families and providing much needed valuable medical equipment.
Our aim has always been to do our best to provide the best.
All our Officials, Committee Members and helpers give their time freely, without payment or taking any expenses, and our administration costs are minimal.
Since 1981 we have collected, with the marvelous support and generosity of the general public, well over £4 million pounds. This has been used to fund projects large and small.
Wishes 4 Kids
Wishes 4 Kids has been created to grant a wish for children and youngsters in Leicestershire who are life limited, terminally ill, have experienced life-changing physical or emotional traumas and have suffered major abuse. The Charity grants wishes for those of eighteen years and below.
Wishes 4 Kids has already granted thousands of wishes for local children.
Sadly we do not have a magical cure for the suffering of these youngsters, however, we can bring a short period of respite. The time when a child has a wish granted is a moment that will be treasured by them for the rest of their life. It is also a time which parents will remember – that time when their child forgot the suffering.
St Andrews Play Association & New Parks Adventure Playground
These Play Associations are charities which offer a vital service to less fortunate children in disadvantaged areas, some of which can be living in poverty.
There are 26,000 children and young people in poverty in Leicestershire alone. This figure is disturbing and unacceptable. We aim to help them to help the kids that need this vital support.
YOUNG PEOPLE THAT BECOME HOMELESS
CAN BE LEFT VULNERABLE, SLEEPING ROUGH, OPEN TO VIOLENCE AND ABUSE.
We are here to end the cycle of youth homelessness.
With each person taking many little steps until they are ready to move into long-term accommodation.
